Recently, Prof. Chang’s work on invited review of integrated optical frequency comb “Integrated optical frequency comb technologies” was published in the journal Nature Photonics.
This review comprehensively summarized and analyzed different schemes for generating optical frequency combs (OFCs) in integrated optics, and summarized the research progress OFCs in photonic integrated circuits (PICs). In the end, this review presented a roadmap for bringing the advanced OFC from system laboratory to life.
OFC technologies has made remarkable progress in recent years, and its application scenarios have become significantly extended. At present, OFC has achieved major breakthroughs in the fields of optical computing, lidar, and biomedicine. The multi-wavelength parallel advantage of OFC subverts the traditional computing and sensing system architecture and brings a huge improvement in the speed of system information processing.
